On beverage production lines, filtration is a process step that is easily underestimated. Whether it is fruit juice, tea beverages, plant‑based protein beverages, functional beverages, or flavoured syrups, the liquid just after blending or pressing contains a large number of visible or invisible solid impurities – raw material fibres, pulp residues, plant debris, agglomerated particles, and small amounts of foreign matter that may be introduced during processing.
If these impurities are not effectively intercepted, the knock‑on effects are more severe than one might imagine: finished products develop sediment and stratification, shelf life is shortened; mouthfeel becomes rough, and consumer experience declines; filling nozzles become blocked, causing frequent production line stoppages. More critically, with increasingly stringent food hygiene standards today, impurity residue is not just a quality issue – it is a compliance issue.
In beverage production, the hygienic design of filtration equipment directly determines whether the product can pass food safety audits.
As beverages are food products consumed directly, the entire production process must comply with the requirements of the "National Food Safety Standard – General Hygienic Practice for Food Production" (GB 14881). Specifically regarding the filtration stage, food hygiene standards impose three mandatory constraints on equipment.
First constraint: Material – material‑contact parts must be food‑grade. Components of the equipment that come into direct contact with the liquid must not release harmful substances into the product and must not rust or corrode. Ordinary carbon steel or non‑standard materials can leach metal ions after prolonged contact with acidic or sugary materials, directly threatening food safety.
Second constraint: Structure – equipment must have no hygiene dead corners and be easy to clean. Beverages are rich in sugars and nutrients, making them an ideal medium for microbial growth. If the internal surfaces of the equipment have hygiene dead corners, residual liquid will rapidly breed bacteria and mould at room temperature, directly contaminating subsequent batches.
Third constraint: Sealing – the filtration process must be fully enclosed to prevent secondary contamination. Open or semi‑enclosed filtration equipment allows dust and microorganisms from the outside air to fall into the liquid during operation, causing secondary contamination. Fully enclosed design is the basic threshold for food‑grade filtration equipment.
These three constraints are not "recommendations" – they are "mandatory requirements." Failure to meet any one of them could result in a non‑compliant ruling during food safety audits.
The Gaofu Machinery filtration sieve (filtration screening machine) is built on the three‑dimensional rotary vibrating sieve as its core technology platform, systematically meeting the requirements of food hygiene production standards from three dimensions: material, structure and sealing.
Material level: Food‑grade stainless steel – preventing contamination at the source. All material‑contact parts of the Gaofu filtration sieve are made of food‑grade stainless steel, with both internal and external surfaces finely polished. Stainless steel is corrosion‑resistant and non‑rusting – even after prolonged contact with fruit juice, syrup, tea liquor and other materials with certain acidity or alkalinity, it maintains stable chemical inertness and does not leach harmful substances. The finely polished, smooth, dense surface prevents material adhesion, ensuring the purity of beverages from the material source.
Structure level: Mesh openings do not block, powder does not escape – no hygiene dead corners. The Gaofu filtration sieve features mesh openings that do not block and powder that does not escape, with screening capability down to 400 mesh. The equipment is equipped with a food‑grade silicone bouncing ball cleaning system under the screen deck, which continuously taps the underside of the screen during operation to dislodge fibre and pectin particles blocking the mesh openings – continuous, automatic, and requiring no manual intervention – ensuring both continuous production and reducing the risk of secondary contamination from manual screen cleaning. The whole machine has a simple structure with no hygiene dead corners, supporting rapid disassembly for cleaning to ensure thorough cleaning during batch changeovers.
Sealing level: Fully enclosed screening design – eliminating secondary contamination. The equipment features a fully enclosed screening design, with the screening process taking place inside a sealed chamber, effectively preventing secondary contamination of the material and dust escape. The fully enclosed design also blocks external foreign matter and moisture from entering the filtration system, ensuring the purity of the beverage throughout the filtration process.
The Gaofu filtration sieve is suitable for single‑deck screening and filtration by manufacturers in various industries, for processing materials with small production volumes or low impurity content. With high screening and filtration efficiency, it is suitable for any particles, powders or viscous liquids, playing a critical role in the following beverage production scenarios.
Fruit juice and vegetable juice filtration. Whether it is clear juices such as apple juice, orange juice and grape juice, or cloudy juices such as mango juice and tomato juice, the raw juice after pressing or pulping contains solid impurities such as pulp fibres, peel fragments and seed pieces. Through different mesh size configurations, the Gaofu filtration sieve completes everything from coarse filtration to remove large particles to fine filtration for clear, bright juice – all with a single machine.
Tea beverage filtration. Tea liquor from black tea, green tea, oolong tea and others contains tea dust, tea stalk fragments and fine suspended solids during extraction and blending. If these impurities are not removed, they will directly affect the clarity and taste stability of the tea beverage. The filtration sieve effectively intercepts tea residues through high‑precision screens, ensuring the tea liquor is clear and bright.
Plant‑based protein beverage filtration. Plant‑based protein beverages such as soymilk, oat milk and almond milk contain large amounts of plant fibre and insoluble protein particles after grinding and blending. These impurities not only affect mouthfeel but may also sediment and stratify during storage. The filtration sieve effectively removes fibres and particles through fine filtration, improving product stability and smoothness.
Functional beverages and flavoured syrup filtration. Functional beverages may contain undissolved agglomerates of powder ingredients, while flavoured syrups may contain caramelised particles or impurities during boiling and storage. The filtration sieve effectively removes agglomerates and particles through single‑deck or multi‑deck screen configurations, ensuring product purity and appearance.
The reason the Gaofu filtration sieve can adapt to multiple beverage filtration applications while meeting food hygiene production standards lies in the following six equipment features:
Feature 1: Mesh openings do not block; powder does not escape. The anti‑blinding design ensures the screen remains clear for extended periods, effectively solving the blinding problem of high‑fibre, high‑viscosity materials.
Feature 2: Easy screen changes, simple operation, convenient cleaning. The mother‑child screen frame structure enables convenient and efficient switching between different mesh sizes, greatly reducing downtime for product changeovers.
Feature 3: Compact size, light weight, easy to move. No complex foundation installation is required – the equipment can be flexibly placed anywhere on the production line, adapting to beverage processing workshops of all scales.
Feature 4: High screening and filtration efficiency, suitable for any particles, powders or viscous liquids. A single machine adapts to multiple filtration applications from low‑viscosity beverages to high‑viscosity slurries.
Feature 5: Unique screen frame design for long screen life. The mother screen provides structural support for long‑term use, while the child screen (working screen) is responsible for filtration and can be replaced independently – ensuring both filtration accuracy and controlled operating costs.
Feature 6: Robust and durable design – low noise, long service life. The equipment operates with low noise and reasonable energy consumption, with a long service life under normal operating conditions.
