As feed mills scale up, production line layouts become increasingly complex, and the challenges facing the screening stage continue to escalate:
Long production lines with multiple workstations – materials need to flow over long distances. Modern feed production lines often span multiple floors and workshops. Raw materials flow from the receiving point to the mill, from the mill to the mixer, from the mixer to the pelletiser, and from the pelletiser to the finished product storage – material needs to flow between different workstations over long distances. If each stage is equipped with its own screening equipment, investment and floor space multiply, and the risks of material loss and contamination during multiple transfers increase.
Large throughput – high equipment capacity required. Large and medium‑sized feed production lines can produce several to dozens of tonnes per hour. If screening equipment lacks sufficient capacity, it becomes a direct bottleneck for the entire production line. Gaofu's SZF series linear vibrating screen achieves single‑machine throughput of 1‑100 t/h – meeting the capacity requirements of large and medium‑sized feed processors.
Long continuous operation – high equipment stability required. Feed production typically runs 24/7. As a critical link in the production line, the screening equipment's stability directly affects overall line utilisation. The equipment must be capable of long‑duration continuous operation with low failure rates and long maintenance intervals.
Diverse grading requirements – flexible configuration needed. Different animal species and life stages require different feed particle sizes – from very small particles for young animals to large pellets for adult animals, with a wide particle size range. The equipment must have multi‑stage grading capability to separate mixed material into different size fractions.
Gaofu's SZF series linear vibrating screen uses dual vibrating motors operating in synchronised opposite directions. When the two motors mounted longitudinally on the screen body run in opposite directions, the lateral excitation forces cancel each other out, while the longitudinal forces are transmitted through the vibration‑transmitting body to the entire screen box, generating stable linear vibration on the screen surface. Under the combined action of excitation force and gravity, material is thrown up on the screen surface and moves forward in a straight line in a bouncing motion – particles smaller than the screen openings pass through to the lower layer, while oversize material travels along the screen surface to the outlet.
The key difference is: conventional screening equipment makes material "stay and grade in place," while the linear vibrating screen makes material "grade and move forward simultaneously."
Long screen design – providing the physical foundation for long‑distance conveying. Gaofu's SZF series linear vibrating screen offers screen sizes from 500×2000 mm to 1500×4000 mm. A longer screen surface means material travels a longer path on the screen – while completing screening, the material has already been conveyed forward over a considerable distance. This design enables the linear screen to achieve long‑distance conveying while screening.
Multi‑deck grading – multiple specifications from one feed. The equipment supports flexible configurations of 1 to 5 screen decks (6 decks customisable), enabling a single machine to produce 2 to 6 different particle size fractions simultaneously. A single machine separates material into 2 to 6 different size specifications. For feed processing, the upper deck intercepts large impurities and lumps, the middle decks achieve different particle size fractions, and the lower deck removes broken pellets and fines – one machine, multiple functions – material completes multi‑stage grading while being conveyed forward on the screen surface.
Large throughput – matching the rhythm of large and medium‑sized production lines. Gaofu's SZF series linear vibrating screen achieves single‑machine throughput of 1‑100 t/h. Grading fineness of 0.075‑150 mm with grading efficiency of 85%‑95%. In large‑scale livestock and aquatic feed production, the linear screen – with its high‑throughput capability – has become the core screening equipment for fully automated production line operation.
Fully enclosed structure – clean, dust‑free production. The equipment can be configured with a fully enclosed structure or a negative‑pressure extraction system, effectively reducing dust emission during screening and improving the workshop environment. Contact parts can be made of SUS304/SUS316L stainless steel, with a Q235A carbon steel frame.
Adjustable excitation angle – adaptable to different material characteristics. The excitation angle can be adjusted according to material characteristics – ensuring the equipment maintains high screening efficiency while running smoothly with reasonable energy consumption. Screen inclination can be adjusted within a range of 0° to 7°.
