  • The Limitation of Conventional Vibrating Screens: The "Ceiling" of Gravitational Potential Energy

Conventional vibrating screens rely on mechanical vibration to make material bounce on the screen surface, using gravitational potential energy to push fine particles through the mesh. For heavier granular materials, this method works effectively.


However, for ultra‑light, sticky, and easily agglomerated powders like protein, the limitations of conventional vibrating screens are clear:


Fine particles cannot settle effectively. Protein powder particles are extremely light and low in density – on the screen surface, they struggle to settle onto the mesh by gravity alone. Instead, they float and tumble with the vibration, failing to pass through in a timely manner.


Electrostatic agglomeration worsens blinding. High‑frequency vibration intensifies particle friction, generating static electricity. Charged fine particles attract each other to form agglomerates, while simultaneously adhering to the screen surface and rapidly blocking the mesh.


The vicious cycle of "more vibration, more blinding." The higher the vibration intensity, the more intense the friction, the stronger the static charge, and the faster the blinding occurs.


In other words, the conventional vibrating screen's reliance on "gravity settling" for screening lightweight powders has an inherent efficiency bottleneck.


  • The Innovation of the Centrifugal Sifter: Replacing Gravitational Potential Energy with Air Kinetic Energy

The core structure of the equipment is a cylindrical screen drum housed inside the machine body. Its working process can be broken down into three key steps:


Step 1: Screw conveying – airflow mixing and atomisation.

After material enters the equipment through the screw conveying system, it is thoroughly mixed and atomised with high‑speed airflow. Protein powder particles are dispersed by the airflow – agglomerated fines are broken down into individual particles suspended in the airflow.


In simple terms: protein powder no longer enters the screening zone as agglomerates – it is suspended in the airflow as individual particles.


Step 2: Centrifugal propulsion – dual forces driving particles through the screen.

The dispersed individual particles enter the screen drum with the airflow. Through the rotation of the rotor blades inside the drum, the material is subjected to the dual action of centrifugal force and propelling force. Driven by these two forces, powder particles are propelled through the screen.


The essence of this process is: material does not "wait" to pass through the screen – it is "driven" through the screen. Qualified fine powder is discharged from the fines outlet, while oversize material travels along the screen wall and is automatically discharged from the oversize outlet.


Step 3: Continuous airflow scouring – automatic screen cleaning for sustained permeability.

During screening, the airflow continuously scours the screen surface – fine particles cannot accumulate on the screen surface, achieving automatic screen cleaning. The screen remains open at all times, eliminating the need for frequent stoppages.

Understanding the above working principle makes it easy to understand the core advantages of the centrifugal sifter in high‑precision protein powder screening:


Precise classification with controllable fineness. Screen mesh covers 5 to 500 mesh – with precise fineness and no oversize or mis‑grading. By changing the screen mesh, different fineness requirements can be flexibly accommodated – from 80 to 500 mesh in a single machine.


High screening efficiency with large throughput. The centrifugal sifter achieves screening efficiency of over 95% , with throughput 5‑10 times that of conventional vibrating screens. Product fineness is precise with no oversize or mis‑grading.


No sticking, no blinding. Material remains suspended in the airflow and cannot accumulate on the screen surface. For blinding‑prone materials like protein, this feature fundamentally eliminates blinding.


No dust emission. The equipment features a fully enclosed negative‑pressure structure – no dust escapes during operation. Fine powder is classified within a closed chamber, protecting the workshop environment and reducing material loss.
