Raw salt exits in varying forms – front‑end shaping is urgently needed. Whether sea salt, lake salt, or rock salt, raw salt after mining or crystallisation often exists in large lumps and agglomerates. These large salt lumps vary in size and irregularity. Traditional crushing methods cause severe over‑grinding. Hammer crushers rely on high‑speed impact for crushing – while they offer high throughput, the "impact‑based" crushing often results in extensive over‑grinding, producing far more fines than required. These fines not only reduce the yield of the target particle size fraction but also add burden to downstream screening and dust collection systems. Additionally, high‑speed impact creates irregular particle shapes – edges are rounded, surfaces become rough – affecting product appearance.
Rapid equipment corrosion and frequent maintenance. Salt is highly hygroscopic and corrosive. Ordinary carbon steel equipment rusts extremely quickly in salt environments – not only shortening equipment life but also contaminating the product with rust particles, directly affecting product quality and food safety. The hammers, liners, and other wear parts of traditional crushers wear out quickly, requiring frequent replacement and extended downtime.
The fundamental difference between Gaofu's salt crusher and traditional crushing equipment lies in the completely different mode of force application.
Counter‑rotating rollers – compression + shearing crushing. Two motors drive two sets of crushing rollers in counter‑rotating motion. Material enters the V‑shaped crushing chamber between the two rollers from the top feed opening. Through the friction and compression force of the roller surfaces, material is drawn into the crushing chamber and subjected to continuous high‑pressure compression and shearing action. When the material is crushed to less than the gap between the two rollers, it is discharged from the bottom.
The key difference is: hammer crushers make material "shatter," while Gaofu's double roller crusher makes material "fracture under pressure." The former involves uncontrollable impact, the latter involves controlled compression and shearing. Material undergoes controlled fracturing between the rollers.
