Screening operations on salt production lines face multiple practical challenges:
High throughput demands continuous, efficient operation. Modern salt production lines process dozens of tonnes or more per day. Screening equipment must have sufficient capacity and run reliably to avoid becoming a bottleneck for the entire production line.
Clear grading requirements demand precise particle size control. Different applications require different salt particle sizes – coarse salt (approx. 8‑20 mesh) is mainly used for curing and industrial applications; medium salt (approx. 20‑40 mesh) is the most common specification for daily cooking; fine salt (approx. 40‑80 mesh) is used in seasoning production and baking. The equipment must have multi‑stage grading capability to separate material into different particle size fractions.
Strict hygiene standards require food‑grade compliance. Salt is consumed directly – production equipment must meet food‑grade hygiene standards. All parts that contact salt should be made of food‑grade stainless steel to ensure no heavy metal contamination during screening.
Materials are corrosive – equipment must resist salt corrosion. Salt (sodium chloride) is corrosive to metals in humid environments. Sea salt contains even more aggressive corrosive components such as magnesium chloride and calcium chloride. Equipment materials must have good corrosion resistance.
Gaofu's SZF series salt linear vibrating screen uses dual vibrating motors operating in synchronised opposite directions. When the two motors mounted longitudinally on the screen body run in opposite directions, the lateral excitation forces cancel each other out, while the longitudinal forces are transmitted through the vibration‑transmitting body to the entire screen box, generating linear vibration on the screen surface.
Under the combined action of excitation force and gravity, material is thrown up on the screen surface and moves forward in a straight line in a bouncing motion. Particles smaller than the screen openings pass through to the lower layer, while oversize material travels along the screen surface to the outlet. Because the screening process is continuous and well‑organised, the machine can simultaneously produce several fractions of different particle sizes in a single pass.
This working principle gives the linear vibrating screen unique advantages in processing large volumes of salt: material moves in a straight line on the screen surface, providing a long screening path and high screen utilisation – ideal for high‑volume continuous screening operations.

All parts that directly contact salt are made of 304 or 316L food‑grade stainless steel. 316L stainless steel – with its high nickel and molybdenum content – offers excellent corrosion resistance, particularly suitable for handling chloride‑containing sea salt, preventing equipment rusting or material contamination caused by salt corrosion. It meets food‑grade production requirements, ensuring no heavy metal contamination during screening. The equipment is widely used for dry screening of fine and powdered materials in the salt, food, chemical, and other industries.
Flexible multi‑deck screen configuration for multi‑stage grading in one pass.
The equipment supports flexible configurations of 1 to 5 screen decks, enabling a single machine to produce 2 to 6 different particle size fractions simultaneously. For salt production lines, the upper deck intercepts coarse impurities and lumps, the middle decks achieve different particle size fractions, and the lower deck removes ultra‑fine powder – one machine, multiple functions, reducing material transfer between units. The output particles are uniform in size with high screening accuracy.

The linear vibrating screen achieves screening accuracy of over 95% , with large throughput suitable for screening materials below 200 mesh. Hourly throughput can reach up to 20 tonnes. For large‑scale salt production lines, a single machine can meet the capacity requirements of the entire line.

The equipment features a fully enclosed design that prevents dust from escaping during operation. Good sealing reduces dust pollution. For free‑flowing salt particles, the angle can be increased to raise throughput; for materials with high fines content, the angle can be decreased to extend the screening path and improve grading accuracy.
