Salt production is characterised by large‑scale operations. Large salt works process hundreds or even thousands of tonnes of raw salt daily. If screening equipment becomes a capacity bottleneck, the efficiency of the entire production line is constrained. In large‑scale salt production, the processing capacity of the screening stage directly determines the maximum output of the entire production line. Whether for sea salt coarse processing, refined salt fine grading, or large‑volume industrial salt screening, throughput is always one of the core indicators in equipment selection.


Modern salt production lines typically operate continuously. The processing capacity of screening equipment must match upstream crystallisation and drying processes as well as downstream packaging and storage. Insufficient equipment capacity directly causes material accumulation and line slowdown. Salt production usually runs 24/7 – equipment must operate stably for extended periods with low failure rates and long maintenance intervals. High throughput should not come at the expense of screening accuracy – the equipment must maintain separation precision for each particle size grade while achieving high throughput. Furthermore, sea salt, lake salt, and rock salt have different physical characteristics – screening equipment must have good material adaptability.

A larger screening area means material has more space for dispersion and more opportunities to pass through the screen. With the same throughput per unit area, a larger screening area directly translates to higher total throughput. In screening granular materials such as salt and sugar, a single tumbler screen can meet the capacity requirements of large salt production lines.


Multi‑deck screen configuration completes grading and impurity removal simultaneously. Gaofu's high‑throughput salt tumbler screen supports flexible configurations of 1 to 5 screen decks, enabling simultaneous separation of multiple particle size grades in a single feed. This design reduces material transfer between multiple machines, shortens overall processing time, and increases effective output per unit time.

The tumbler screen's hand‑screening mimicking principle causes material to move in a spiral involute path on the screen surface, providing a long screening path and high screen utilisation. Compared with conventional screening equipment such as rotary vibrating screens and linear screens, the tumbler screen can achieve up to 5 times the throughput per unit area. This means with the same screen area, the tumbler screen's processing capacity far exceeds that of conventional equipment.


Low‑speed operation with reasonable energy consumption. Unlike high‑speed vibrating conventional screens, the tumbler screen operates at low speed (120‑360 rpm). Low‑speed operation not only reduces impact on material but also lowers equipment energy consumption. While achieving high throughput, the equipment's operating costs remain at a reasonable level.

Enclosed structure improves workshop environment. The equipment features a fully enclosed structure, preventing dust emission during operation. For salt production, this not only improves the workshop environment but also reduces material loss.

By controlling material movement trajectory and residence time on the screen surface, the material's motion path within the limited space becomes a non‑linear curve with varying speed and acceleration.
