The corrosiveness of salt materials stems from their chemical composition and physical properties. Table salt (sodium chloride) readily forms electrolyte solutions in humid environments, causing electrochemical corrosion on metal surfaces. Sea salt contains not only sodium chloride but also impurities such as magnesium chloride and calcium chloride, which are even more corrosive. Entire machine constructed of 304/316L stainless steel. The main body and all components that contact salt materials are made of 304 or 316L stainless steel. 304 stainless steel offers good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, capable of withstanding salt material attack; 316L stainless steel provides even better corrosion resistance – with added molybdenum, it offers superior resistance to chloride ions (a primary component of salt), making it especially suitable for more aggressive materials such as sea salt and industrial salt.
