Edible salt screening and grading is far more than simply "passing through a screen." Different salt types and applications require different particle sizes:
Coarse salt (approx. 8‑20 mesh) is commonly used for curing and industrial applications; medium salt (approx. 20‑40 mesh) is the most common table salt specification for daily cooking; fine salt (approx. 40‑80 mesh) is widely used in seasoning production, baking, and other fine processing applications; ultra‑fine salt powder (above 80 mesh) is used for special food additives or pharmaceutical purposes.

Lumping and adhesion affect screening efficiency. Salt may slightly cake during storage and transport due to moisture absorption, forming agglomerates of varying sizes. If these lumps cannot be effectively broken, they will not only block the screen but also cause oversized particles to contaminate the finished product.
Particle size variation requires precise grading. Edible salt production lines typically need to produce multiple particle size grades simultaneously. A single screening machine must have multi‑stage grading capability to separate several particle fractions in one feed while ensuring the purity of each grade.
Strict hygiene standards demand food‑grade equipment. Salt is consumed directly – equipment safety is paramount. All parts that contact salt must be made of food‑grade stainless steel, with dead‑corner‑free, easy‑to‑clean designs and food‑grade sealing materials.
High throughput requires continuous operation capability. Large‑scale salt producers process dozens of tonnes or more per day – screening equipment must handle high volumes and support long‑duration continuous operation.
Gaofu's S49 series salt rotary vibrating sieve uses a vertical vibration motor as the excitation source. Eccentric weights installed at the top and bottom of the motor convert rotary motion into a three‑dimensional compound motion (horizontal, vertical, and inclined), which is precisely transmitted to the screen surface. Material enters through the central feed port and, under the three‑dimensional vibration force, spreads outward on the screen surface in a spiral path. Fine powder and on‑size salt particles pass through the screen into the lower hopper, while coarse particles, lumps, and foreign matter travel along the screen surface and are automatically discharged from the reject outlet.
By adjusting the phase angle of the upper and lower eccentric weights, the material's movement trajectory and residence time on the screen can be flexibly changed to suit different salt particle size requirements. The discharge ports can be rotated 360° around the axis for flexible layout integration.
