Gaofu Buckwheat Noodle Rotary Vibrating Sieve Enabling Continuous Classification on Coarse Grain Processing Lines

  • The "Classification Challenge" in Buckwheat Noodle Processing: Why Traditional Methods Cannot Keep Up with Line Rhythm

Buckwheat noodles are one of the fastest‑growing coarse grain noodle products under the trend of consumption upgrading. From bitter buckwheat noodles to sweet buckwheat instant noodles, from buckwheat cold noodles to buckwheat steamed bun flour, different product categories have completely different requirements for the fineness, purity and particle size uniformity of buckwheat flour.

However, in actual buckwheat flour production, the screening and classification step is often the "bottleneck" of the entire production line.

The buckwheat milling process typically includes cleaning, magnetic separation, brushing and dust removal, dehulling, milling and sifting. In the sifting step, the intermediate product after grinding needs to be classified by particle size through screening equipment – coarse particles are returned for regrinding, fine powder goes to the next process, and acceptable flour goes to packaging. If the screening equipment cannot keep up with the milling rhythm, either material accumulates and blocks the machine, or insufficient screening results in uneven finished particle size.

Traditional classification methods either use ordinary single‑deck vibrating screens – which can only separate into two or three categories at a time, requiring multiple screening passes to complete multi‑stage classification, with long processes, multiple equipment and low efficiency – or rely on manual screen changes and adjustments – with long downtime, high labour intensity and poor batch‑to‑batch consistency. In large‑scale continuous production, neither method can match the rhythm of the production line.

Continuous classification of buckwheat flour requires screening equipment that can achieve "one feed, multiple grades out, continuous operation."

Multi‑Deck Classification Design: One Feed, Multiple Grades Out

The purpose of classification in buckwheat flour processing is clear: to separate the ground material into different particle size grades – coarse particles are returned to the mill for regrinding, intermediate grades go to packaging as finished buckwheat flour, and fine powder can be used for other purposes or as blending material.

The Gaofu S49 series buckwheat noodle rotary vibrating sieve features multi‑deck screen design , allowing flexible screen mesh configuration according to the particle size requirements of buckwheat flour to achieve fine classification from coarse to fine, ensuring uniform powder. The equipment supports 1 to 5 screen decks , enabling simultaneous separation into 2 to 6 grades with a single feed.

Typical three‑deck configuration in buckwheat flour processing:

First deck (coarser mesh): Intercepts insufficiently ground buckwheat particles and bran fragments – oversize material is returned to the mill for reprocessing, avoiding raw material waste

Second deck (target mesh): Collects the acceptable‑size finished buckwheat flour – goes to packaging or the next process

Third deck (finer mesh): Separates ultra‑fine powder – can be used for blending or other purposes

One machine, one feed – simultaneously completes the three steps of coarse particle regrinding, finished product classification and fine powder separation. For buckwheat noodle processors, the multi‑deck design means fewer machines, less floor space, and fewer material transfer points – the overall efficiency of the production line is systematically released.

Screening accuracy can reach up to 600 mesh (0.02 mm) and filtration precision down to 5 microns. From preliminary impurity removal of buckwheat raw materials to fine screening of finished powder, a single machine covers the full range of requirements.

  • Continuous Operation Capability: Keeping the Screening Step in Sync with Line Rhythm

Buckwheat noodle processing is typically continuous flow production – from cleaning, dehulling and milling to sifting and packaging, each step is closely linked. Any interruption at any point will affect the capacity of the entire production line.

The continuous operation capability of the Gaofu buckwheat noodle rotary vibrating sieve comes from three levels of design assurance:

First, automatic discharge of impurities without manual intervention. During screening, impurities and oversize material automatically move along the screen surface to the reject port and are discharged. Operators do not need to stop the machine frequently to clean the screen surface, and the equipment can run continuously for long periods.

Second, fully enclosed structure with no dust escape. The equipment features a fully enclosed sealed structure, with screening taking place inside a sealed chamber. Buckwheat flour is light and easily becomes airborne – traditional screening often allows large amounts of fine powder to disperse, causing material loss and workshop contamination. The fully enclosed design solves this problem at the source, while also effectively blocking external moisture and foreign matter from entering the screening system.

Third, anti‑blinding design for continuous operation. To address potential caking and adhesion of buckwheat flour, the equipment is equipped with a bouncing ball cleaning system that continuously taps the screen during screening, dislodging adhering material and keeping the mesh clear. The equipment can run 24 hours continuously without frequent stoppages for cleaning.

Automatic impurity discharge + fully enclosed structure + anti‑blinding cleaning – with these three assurances combined, the screening step is transformed from a "frequent‑stoppage bottleneck" into a "continuously running node."

  • Quick Screen Changes: Flexible Assurance for Multi‑Variety Changeovers

Coarse grain processors typically have more than one product line. Sweet buckwheat flour, bitter buckwheat flour, buckwheat noodle special flour, buckwheat steamed bun flour – different products have different requirements for powder fineness.

When switching products on traditional screening equipment, screen changes often take over half an hour – removing the old screen, cleaning residual material, laying a new screen, and refastening – a time‑consuming process. If three or four varieties need to be switched in a single day, screen changes and cleaning alone can consume most of the shift.

The Gaofu buckwheat noodle rotary vibrating sieve uses a mother‑child screen frame structure , allowing screen changes in just 3 to 5 minutes. The mother screen provides structural support for long‑term use, while the child screen (working screen) is responsible for screening and can be replaced independently. Switching between different mesh sizes is convenient and efficient, greatly reducing downtime for variety changes.

For coarse grain processors that need alternating production of multiple varieties, quick screen changes mean that one production line can flexibly respond to the production needs of multiple product categories without requiring dedicated screening equipment for each variety.

  • Food‑Grade Design: Hygienic Assurance for Buckwheat Flour Production

Buckwheat flour is used directly in food processing, so production equipment must meet strict hygiene standards. The Gaofu buckwheat noodle rotary vibrating sieve incorporates systematic food‑grade configuration in material selection and structural design:

Food‑grade stainless steel. All material‑contact parts are made of food‑grade stainless steel , with finely polished surfaces, no hygiene dead corners, and easy to clean. This eliminates the risk of metal contamination and ensures the purity of the buckwheat flour.

Fully enclosed sealed structure. The equipment has a fully enclosed design, effectively preventing dust escape and material moisture absorption during screening. The fully enclosed structure also blocks external moisture and foreign matter from entering the screening system, ensuring the food safety of the buckwheat flour.

Dead‑corner‑free design. The simple structure has no hygiene dead corners and supports rapid disassembly for cleaning. When switching between different varieties, equipment cleaning is more thorough and efficient, effectively preventing cross‑contamination.

The equipment complies with food GMP standards, helping coarse grain processors present a more convincing compliance record during food safety audits.
