Over 10,000+ customers' choice, Focus on screening industry 40+ years
Refined sugar powder is one of the most fundamental ingredients in the baking, confectionery, beverage and instant food industries. Whether used as decorative icing, baking sugar, or as a core carrier in compound formulations, the fineness, purity and flowability of sugar powder are key factors determining the taste and quality of the final product.
However, screening refined sugar powder is far from straightforward. The finer the sugar powder, the more difficult the screening process becomes. Sugar particles are small with a large specific surface area, making them highly prone to moisture absorption and caking during storage and screening. When relative humidity exceeds a certain level, a thin liquid film forms on the surface of the sugar particles, giving them adhesive properties. These sticky fine particles adhere to the screen surface during screening, gradually blocking the mesh openings and forming a dense "powder film" that continuously reduces the effective screening area.
Even more challenging is that the hygroscopic nature of refined sugar powder creates a vicious cycle in continuous production. The longer the equipment runs, the more sugar powder adheres to the screen surface; the more severe the blinding, the longer the material residence time on the screen, and the greater the opportunity for moisture absorption. Traditional vibrating screens, when handling refined sugar powder, often fall into the repetitive cycle of "blinding – stoppage – cleaning – blinding again." Every unscheduled stoppage represents lost capacity and increased labour costs.
The Gaofu S49 series refined sugar powder rotary vibrating sieve operates on the three‑dimensional gyratory motion principle. The equipment uses a vertical vibration motor as the excitation source, with eccentric weights installed at the upper and lower ends of the motor shaft converting the rotational motion into compound vibration in horizontal, vertical and tilting directions, which is then transmitted to the screen deck. By adjusting the phase angle of the upper and lower weights, the motion trajectory of the material on the screen surface can be changed.
The value of this three‑dimensional motion for refined sugar powder screening lies in three aspects:
First, thorough material loosening. The refined sugar powder moves in a spiral outward trajectory on the screen surface, continuously rolling and shifting. Slight lumps formed by moisture absorption are naturally broken apart during the motion, preventing local accumulation and adhesive layer formation on the screen surface.
Second, extended screening path and high accuracy. The material travels along a spiral trajectory, giving every sugar particle multiple opportunities to contact the screen. The S49 series rotary vibrating sieve can achieve screening fineness up to 600 mesh (0.02 mm) and filtration precision down to 5 microns. From 80‑mesh coarse impurity removal to ultra‑fine screening above 200 mesh, a single machine covers the full range of requirements.
Third, high processing capacity supporting continuous operation. The equipment supports 1 to 5 screen decks , enabling simultaneous separation into 2 to 6 grades. One machine, one feed – simultaneously completes impurity removal, classification and fine screening in a single pass.
The core problem of refined sugar powder adhesion to the screen is the lack of external force to remove the adhered material. The Gaofu refined sugar powder rotary vibrating sieve addresses this challenge continuously and physically through its self‑cleaning bouncing ball system.
Each screen deck is fitted with food‑grade silicone bouncing balls underneath. Under vibration, the balls generate high‑frequency, flexible tapping against the underside of the screen. This continuous, gentle tapping produces three direct effects:
First, it dislodges adhering sugar powder. The high‑frequency tapping creates micro‑vibrations on the screen, breaking the adhesion between sugar particles and the wire mesh, and shaking off fine powder stuck in the openings – keeping the screen clear.
Second, it prevents lump accumulation. The continuous tapping breaks up lumps before they can form, reducing the chance of lumps blocking the mesh openings.
Third, it extends continuous operation cycles. With the bouncing ball self‑cleaning system, the equipment can run for extended periods without frequent manual screen cleaning, significantly reducing labour intervention.
For ultra‑fine refined sugar powder (above 200 mesh) or more sticky materials, an optional ultrasonic cleaning system can be added as a supplementary solution. High‑frequency ultrasonic vibration transmitted to the screen surface further breaks material adhesion, forming a dual anti‑blinding safeguard with the bouncing ball system.
Food‑Grade Design: Hygienic Assurance from Material to Structure
Refined sugar powder is used directly in food processing, so equipment materials and hygiene standards must meet strict requirements. The Gaofu refined sugar powder rotary vibrating sieve incorporates systematic design in the following areas:
Food‑grade stainless steel. All material‑contact parts are made of food‑grade 304 stainless steel , with finely polished surfaces that meet hygiene requirements. For production lines requiring even higher cleanliness, 316L stainless steel is available.
Fully enclosed sealed structure. The equipment has a fully enclosed design, effectively preventing dust escape and material moisture absorption during screening. The fully enclosed structure also blocks external moisture and foreign matter from entering the screening system, reducing the risk of secondary moisture absorption of the sugar powder.
Dead‑corner‑free design. The simple structure has no hygiene dead corners and supports rapid disassembly for cleaning. The equipment features quick‑release clamps or flanged connections, allowing it to be opened quickly without tools for thorough cleaning, inspection and screen changes.
Mother‑child screen frame structure. The mother screen provides structural support, while the child screen (working screen) performs the screening. When the child screen wears out or a different mesh size is needed, only the child screen needs to be replaced; the mother screen can be used for a long time. Screen changes take only 3 to 5 minutes.
Gaofu Machinery was among the first in the industry to obtain CE Safety Certification from TUV Rheinland Group and ISO 9001 International Quality Management System Certification. CE certification confirms compliance with EU safety standards, while ISO certification reflects the company's standardised quality management system.
The Gaofu S49 series rotary vibrating sieve has been widely used in food, pharmaceutical, chemical and other industries, with products exported to more than 100 countries and regions, including North America, Western Europe and Southeast Asia. The company holds independent import and export rights and has been granted more than 500 invention, utility model and design patents, participating in the drafting of 4 national standards.
The dual certification of CE and ISO provides reliable quality assurance for refined sugar powder processors in their equipment procurement decisions, offering a compliance advantage in both export markets and domestic premium segments.
From the perspective of actual production conditions in refined sugar powder processing, the Gaofu S49 series self‑cleaning bouncing ball rotary vibrating sieve delivers value in four dimensions:
Accuracy value – Screening fineness up to 600 mesh (0.02 mm) and filtration precision down to 5 microns. Refined sugar powder has uniform particle size and high purity, meeting the stringent requirements of baking, beverage, confectionery and other sugar‑using industries.
Efficiency value – The bouncing ball self‑cleaning system effectively reduces screen blinding frequency, allowing the equipment to run 24 hours continuously with significantly fewer stoppages for cleaning. The quick‑change screen design (3 to 5 minutes) further shortens maintenance time.
Hygiene value – Food‑grade 304 stainless steel, fully enclosed structure and dead‑corner‑free design make the equipment easy to clean with no material residue. This helps enterprises meet the hygiene requirements of food GMP and HACCP systems.
Compliance value – CE safety certification and ISO 9001 quality management system certification give the equipment a compliance advantage in both export and domestic premium markets. 7×24 technical support and worry‑free after‑sales services provide reliable assurance for long‑term stable operation.
