Soy sauce is a liquid seasoning produced by microbial fermentation of soybeans (or defatted soybeans), wheat and other raw materials. It is rich in amino acids, sugars, organic acids and various other components. However, it is precisely these abundant components that inevitably introduce large amounts of solid impurities during fermentation and pressing – soybean meal residue, bran particles, protein flocculates, and caramel colour particles generated during the fermentation process.

Traditional filtration methods are mostly single‑stage – a single pass can only achieve either coarse or fine filtration. Coarse filtration is insufficient, leaving fine impurities behind.
