Gaofu Rice Vacuum Conveying Equipment for Long-Distance Pipeline Transfer: Adapting to Cross-Workshop Transport in Rice Mills

Gaofu Rice Vacuum Conveying Equipment for Long-Distance Pipeline Transfer: Adapting to Cross-Workshop Transport in Rice Mills

  • Working Principle of Vacuum Conveying: Negative Pressure Drive, Enclosed Transfer

The working principle of the Gaofu rice vacuum conveying equipment can be summarised in one sentence: using air pressure difference to make rice automatically complete cross‑workshop transfer in an enclosed pipeline.

When the vacuum pump starts, it continuously removes air from the conveying pipeline and the vacuum hopper, creating a negative pressure state inside the system that is lower than the outside atmospheric pressure. Rice grains, together with outside air, are drawn into the suction nozzle, forming an air‑material mixture that travels through the enclosed conveying pipe to the vacuum hopper. Inside the hopper, the rice is separated from the air by a filter – air passes through the filter element and is exhausted, while the rice is intercepted on the outside of the filter and settles to the bottom of the hopper under gravity. When the material accumulates to a preset level, the discharge valve opens automatically and the rice falls into the receiving equipment.

The entire conveying process is automatically controlled by a PLC, with suction and discharge cycles completed automatically. Each time the material is discharged, a compressed air pulse reverse‑cleaning device automatically blows the powder adhering to the filter surface, restoring the filter element's permeability.

The fully enclosed pipeline is the core carrier of this system. From entering the suction nozzle to reaching the receiving equipment, the rice travels entirely inside an enclosed stainless steel pipeline, without contact with outside air, without contact with operators, and without exposure to the workshop environment.

  • Long‑Distance Conveying Capability: Core Parameters for Cross‑Workshop Transfer

Cross‑workshop transfer in rice mills has rigid requirements for conveying distance. From the paddy cleaning workshop to the milling workshop, and from the milling workshop to the packing workshop, the horizontal distance often reaches several tens of metres, and when combined with cross‑floor vertical lifts, the total conveying distance is even greater.

The Gaofu vacuum conveying equipment covers a conveying capacity range of 200 to 6,000 kg/hour with a power range of 1.5 to 18.5 kW. For long‑distance conveying, the equipment supports horizontal conveying of 10 to 50 metres and vertical conveying of 3 to 15 metres.

Different models suit different conveying distances and capacity requirements. Taking the GFZK‑600 series as an example, the 7.5 kW dual‑motor configuration can achieve 2,000 to 4,000 kg/hour within a conveying distance of 10 metres. The 11 kW dual‑motor configuration can maintain a conveying capacity of 2,000 to 6,000 kg/hour at a conveying distance of 20 metres.

Relationship between conveying distance and capacity. It should be noted that conveying capacity decreases to a certain extent as conveying distance increases. In actual engineering design, the Gaofu technical team will carry out precise selection calculations and system configurations based on the specific conveying distance, vertical height, pipeline routing and material characteristics of the rice mill, ensuring that the equipment maintains stable and efficient conveying performance under cross‑workshop long‑distance transfer conditions.

For ultra‑long distances or complex routing requirements, Gaofu can also provide staged pressurisation or multi‑point relay conveying solutions, splitting the long‑distance transfer into multiple shorter sections to ensure that the conveying efficiency of each section is at its optimum.

  • Specialised Design Considerations for Rice

As a granular material, rice differs significantly from powder materials in conveying characteristics. Based on general vacuum conveying technology, the Gaofu rice vacuum conveying equipment incorporates several specialised design features to address the specific properties of rice.

Low‑breakage conveying design. During conveying, the collision between rice grains and the pipe wall is the main cause of broken rice. The Gaofu vacuum conveying equipment uses a negative pressure suction method, where the material is suspended in the pipeline rather than being mechanically forced forward. The collision intensity between grains and the pipe wall is far lower than in mechanical conveying methods such as screw conveyors and bucket elevators. The appropriate conveying airflow velocity design further reduces the frequency of collision between grains, effectively controlling the broken rice rate during conveying.

Food‑grade stainless steel. Rice comes into direct contact with food, so the conveying equipment material must meet clear hygiene requirements. All parts of the Gaofu vacuum conveying equipment that contact material – pipelines, hoppers, suction nozzles, discharge valves, etc. – are made of food‑grade stainless steel, with finely polished surfaces, no hygiene dead corners, and easy to clean. The equipment complies with the hygiene standards of the food processing industry and is suitable for large‑scale continuous production in rice mills.

Fully enclosed dust‑proof structure. Rice bran and fine dust generated during rice conveying are locked inside the enclosed pipeline and do not escape into the workshop environment. The equipment has no gaps or dead corners where material can accumulate, and surfaces are easy to inspect visually. The fully enclosed design also effectively blocks external moisture and foreign matter, preventing the rice from absorbing moisture or becoming contaminated during conveying.

Flexible pipeline routing. The conveying pipeline can be flexibly arranged according to the workshop layout of the rice mill, including horizontal, vertical, inclined and curved runs. Pipelines can be routed along walls, ceilings or floors, without being constrained by workshop space, making the production line layout more compact and flexible. For both new rice mills and retrofits of existing workshops, low‑cost equipment deployment can be achieved.

  • Automatic Control: From Manual Transfer to Unmanned Operation

The Gaofu rice vacuum conveying equipment is equipped with a PLC intelligent control system for fully automatic continuous operation. The system supports level interlock control – when the material level of the downstream equipment falls below the set value, feeding starts automatically; when it rises above the set value, feeding stops automatically. The operator simply presets the parameters on the control panel, and the system automatically completes the cycle of "suction – separation – discharge – reverse cleaning" without manual intervention.

Each production line requires only 1‑2 attendants. Compared with traditional manual handling, automated conveying greatly reduces labour costs and intensity. At the same time, automated conveying eliminates the quality fluctuations caused by manual operations – correct transfer sequence, no material confusion, no foreign matter contamination – upgrading cross‑workshop transfer from "manual control" to "machine control."

The system can also be connected to the rice mill's MES system for real‑time upload and digital management of raw material usage data. From raw material input to finished product packing, the transfer data of each batch of rice can be traced, providing accurate data support for production management.
