Tea Leaves Rotary Vibrating Sieve with Enclosed Dust-Proof Structure: Adapting to Classification and Impurity Removal in Dry Tea Processing

  • Three‑Dimensional Vibration Principle: The Technical Foundation for Efficient Tea Screening

The Gaofu rotary vibrating sieve for tea leaves uses a vertical vibration motor as the excitation source. Eccentric weights installed at the upper and lower ends of the motor shaft convert the rotational motion into a horizontal, vertical and tilting three‑dimensional compound vibration – known as "three‑dimensional vibration". This compound vibration is transmitted to the screen deck, causing the material to move on the screen surface in an expanding spiral‑involute trajectory, spreading from the centre outwards.

This three‑dimensional motion offers three distinct advantages for dry tea screening:

First, thorough material loosening. Tea strips continuously tumble and shift under the action of three‑dimensional vibration, avoiding entanglement and accumulation between strips, so that every individual leaf can fully contact the screen surface. For oolong teas or black teas with long or curled strips, this feature is particularly critical – only fully loosened material can achieve precise size classification.

Second, extended screening path. The material travels along an involute trajectory on the screen surface, with a path length far greater than that of linear screening, significantly increasing the opportunities for passage through the mesh. This means that the tea receives more thorough screening time on the limited screen area, resulting in higher classification accuracy.

Third, adjustable motion trajectory. By adjusting the phase angle of the upper and lower eccentric weights, the motion trajectory and residence time of the material on the screen surface can be changed. For different tea types and different strip morphologies, the parameters can be flexibly adjusted to achieve the optimal screening effect.

The Gaofu S49 series rotary vibrating sieve supports 1 to 5 screen decks, allowing a single feed to complete multi‑stage classification simultaneously. Coarse screening removes large impurities such as tea stalks and old leaves, fine screening achieves precise tea classification, and ultra‑fine powder is discharged from the bottom deck. Screening accuracy can reach up to 600 mesh (0.02 mm) . Whether for routine dry tea classification and impurity removal or for fine screening of ultra‑fine tea powder (above 300 mesh), the required results can be achieved simply by changing the screen mesh.

  • Enclosed Dust‑Proof Structure: Systematic Design for Dust Control at Source

The dust problem during tea screening arises from the fine particle size and low bulk density of tea powder, which makes it easily airborne under vibration and airflow disturbance. Ordinary open or semi‑enclosed screening machines lack effective containment, making dust escape a common occurrence.

The enclosed dust‑proof structure of the Gaofu rotary vibrating sieve for tea leaves is a comprehensive sealing system that covers the entire equipment from the top cover to the discharge ports.

Sealed connections between screen frames. Between the top frame and the dust cover, between the top frame and the lower frame, and between the lower frame and the base, special sealing strips combined with clamp ring locking provide airtight fixing. The clamp ring locking system provides uniform clamping force, ensuring that the sealing strips fit tightly around the entire circumference with no leakage gaps. The screening chamber is thus transformed into a completely sealed space, where material is classified and de‑dedusted, with tea dust locked inside the equipment.

Top sealing of the dust cover. A dust cover and sealing strip are fitted at the top of the equipment to further suppress dust escape from the feed port. For production lines that need to connect to a workshop dust extraction system, the dust cover can also be equipped with an optional dust extraction port, enabling negative pressure dust extraction inside the equipment to be linked with the workshop dust collection system, forming a dual dust control barrier.

Flexible sealing of discharge ports. Each discharge port is fitted with a flexible seal to ensure that no dust escapes during material discharge. The discharge ports can be rotated 360° around the axis, making it easy to connect with upstream and downstream equipment and adapt to different workshop layouts.

  • Threefold Value of the Enclosed Dust‑Proof Structure for Dry Tea Processing

1. Controlled workshop dust concentration, improved working environment. Tea dust generated during screening, when inhaled over long periods, can have adverse effects on operators' respiratory systems. The fully enclosed structure locks dust inside the equipment, reducing dust exposure at the source. The improvement in workshop air quality not only protects the occupational health of operators but also reduces the fire safety risks associated with dust accumulation.

2. Reduced material loss, improved raw material utilisation. Tea raw materials have economic value; every gram of tea dust that drifts away represents a direct loss. Enclosed screening ensures material "goes in and comes out" – acceptable tea leaves are discharged from each deck in graded fractions, while tea dust is collected rather than dispersed, effectively controlling material loss.

3. Prevention of cross‑contamination, assurance of product purity. If cross‑contamination occurs between different batches or different grades of tea during screening, it will directly affect the grade classification and quality consistency of the finished tea. The fully enclosed structure makes batch changes cleaner, prevents foreign matter from entering the screening system, and effectively isolates residual material between different batches.

  • Specialised Design Considerations for Dry Tea Processing

There are significant differences in material characteristics between dry tea screening and powder screening – tea strips are elastic, fibrous and irregular in shape. Based on the enclosed dust‑proof structure, the Gaofu rotary vibrating sieve for tea leaves incorporates several specialised design features to meet the actual needs of dry tea processing.

Flexibility in screen mesh configuration. Different tea types require different screening sizes. For strip teas and round teas, the powder standard is typically 28 mesh (0.63 mm aperture) . For broken black tea, the dust fraction is required to pass through 80 mesh (0.18 mm aperture) . For super‑fine tea powder production, screening to 300 mesh is required. The Gaofu rotary vibrating sieve supports rapid screen mesh changes, allowing a single machine to cover the full range from coarse impurity removal to ultra‑fine powder classification.

Provision of cleaning devices. Tea fibres tend to wrap around the mesh openings during screening, affecting screening efficiency. The Gaofu rotary vibrating sieve can be equipped with a bouncing ball cleaning system, in which balls continuously tap the screen cloth during screening, dislodging tangled tea fibres and adhering dust to keep the mesh clear.

Targeted material selection. Tea comes into direct contact with food, so the equipment material must meet clear hygiene standards. All material‑contact parts of the Gaofu rotary vibrating sieve for tea leaves are made of 304 food‑grade stainless steel, with finely polished surfaces, no hygiene dead corners, and easy to clean, complying with the hygiene standards for food processing equipment.

Convenience of screen changing. The Gaofu rotary vibrating sieve uses a mother‑child screen frame structure, allowing screen changes in just 3 to 5 minutes. The mother screen provides structural support, while the fine screen (working screen) performs the screening. When the fine screen wears out or a different mesh size is needed, only the fine screen needs to be replaced; the mother screen can be used for a long time. This design reduces consumable screen costs while shortening production line downtime.
